Naushad Zafar, MD, attended Jinnah Sindh Medical University, formerly Sindh Medical College in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, and received his medical degree in 1986. He relocated to the United States where he served his internal medicine residency at SUNY Downstate Medical College/Lutheran Medical Center – now NYU Langone Hospital – Brooklyn – in Brooklyn, NY (1990-1993). Dr. Zafar remained in Brooklyn, where he conducted his nephrology fellowship with the same teaching venue (1993-1995). In addition, he received board certification in internal medicine and the subspecialty of nephrology from the American Board of Internal Medicine. A member of the American Society of Nephrology, Dr. Zafar is licensed to practice in the State of Texas. As a result of his passion, commitment, and many years’ experience in treating chronic kidney disease, Dr. Zafar has received a 2020 Top Doctor Award.
